One of the best tools to make Stratego diagrams for puzzles and to discuss strategy:

It supports showing various piece styles specific for Stratego:

Moved and Known
Moved and Unknown
Unmoved

Direction of move arrows

It is probably the best and most used tool to quickly visualize complex themes found in mid and end games.

Also it is free to use and can be found here.

The link no longer leads to the editor.
We are currently looking for a new place to host the boardgame editor.

It will be posted here when that has been completed.

Perfect, thank you very much. Wink
Hopefully it is back up soon, because I use the editor to make most of my setups. There also isn’t really another online tool like it for practicing theoretical opening lane positions and endgame scenarios. Guess I’ll have to use an actual board and pieces in the meantime lol...

Very cool! Only a slight inconvenience, but the new board editor does not show up in the Google search results if I do a search for it. Perhaps this can be fixed in the future?
So far no luck with google yet, but i changed some of the source links to the editor, so hopefully the crawler will find us from there.

Also if there are any feature requests for the editor, please let me know.

I might make a new version again at some point.
Is there any way to make a feature that lists the remaining pieces required to make a setup? For example, after you put 2 Majors on the board, maybe there would be a box or something next to the board that says 1 Major is still required for a legal setup. Also, maybe a notification if you have too many of 1 piece (9 Scouts for example).

This would be incredibly helpful, but I’m not sure how complicated it would be to add. No worries if it can’t be done, it’s only a minor inconvenience.
Morx, it's a wonderful thing, the board editor. I only have one request. Would it be possible to give an update to the board editor to offer a choice on piece styles? It would be so nice to have the newest pieces from .com, the Milton Bradley pieces, or maybe another style.

Its made as simple as possible intentionally, it would require some work to put real rules in it like counting and stuff.

That is doable, provided that we have the art work somewhere for those sets.
Its less work than counting pieces or enforcing rules.

I might have a look at it at some point.
I haven't used the editor in a while, and I notice just tonight that my link to it is bad. It used to work but no more. So I'm glad for this topic so I can save a new and accurate link.
